अथास्य शास्त्रस्य प्रवर्तनकालविषये जनिभूमि विषये च बहुविवदस्ते नूराः पाश्चात्यानामैति ह्यपरामसँपद्धतेर्षहणात् भारतीय विद्यायाः कालनिरपेक्षस्वभावा ग्रहाच्या किन्तुन कोऽपि निर्णयः तन्त्राणां कालनिराजनिभूम्यभिशापको वा पोहतकाशः दृश्यतेऽद्य यावत् विषयेऽस्मिन् कृतबमाण मत स्वारस्य प्रासङ्गिकत्पादनोपस्थाप्यते संग्रहेण ।
केचन विद्वांसः काल्या: स्वरुपविमर्शनप्रसंगे रूपकं भावयन्ति। तस्याः घोररूपे सर्वसंहर्तुः कालस्य लयं पश्यन्ति काल्या: घोररुपाया: स्वरूपप्रतीकानि सरजॉन बड़फमहोदयेन स्वकीये "दि नेकलेस आफ काली" इति निबन्धे वैशद्येन म्यरूपि। एतदपि लोकरज्जनपर व्याख्यानं यथावसरं ग्राह्यमेव। किन्तु वस्तुतः रहस्यात्मिकायाः तात्त्विकं रूपविज्ञानं तु गूढतरं योगिभिसंभ्यमेवास्ति।
The work describes the procedure of worship of of the goddes Kali cccording to the Vamăcara or the socalled 'left school'. The worship of Kali with the five Ma-karas is not only commonly accepted but also highly praised in this system.
The text of this work is mainly based on Manuscripts material preserved in the collection of our Institute. It is the assumption of the able Editor of this text that this work was composed by someone who lived in the neighbourhood of Vindhyachal and had close connections with the Vindhyavasini Temple there.
